African Union held minute silence for Dr. René Kouassi
African union mourns Dr. René Kouassi with a minute silence.
During the African Union’s Ordinary Session of the Permanent Representatives, a minute of silence was held in remembrance of Dr. René Kouassi. He passed away on Sunday 14th January in his home country, Côte d’Ivoire.
Dr. René Kouassi was AU Commission Director for Economic Affairs. Meanwhile, his colleagues at the commission stated that “He will be remembered for his Pan African values, kindness and humor. We Salute you and thank you for your service to Africa.”
During his service to the commission, he developed and implemented key programmes. Such projects are the Pan African Financial Institutions, STATAFRIC, and his latest brainchild “Africa’s Development Dynamics”.
He will be surely missed!
